Terms of service

What an adoption is
An adoption is a fixed-term agreement to fund the care of one identified tree on a partner farm, in exchange for updates about that tree and the right to claim the harvest it produces during the term. It does not transfer ownership of the tree, the fruit before harvest, or any interest in the land.
The term
Unless stated otherwise at checkout, an adoption runs for twelve months from the date payment is confirmed. Adoptions do not renew automatically. You will be told before a term ends.
Harvest
The harvest available to you is what the tree actually produces, as recorded by the farmer. Estimates shown before a season are based on species, age and the farmer's assessment; they are not a guarantee of yield. Where a season fails through weather, disease or other causes outside the farmer's control, our replacement policy applies.
Care requests
You may request watering, feeding, pruning and similar care through the platform. A farmer may decline a request that would harm the tree, conflict with the season, or fall outside normal husbandry, and must give a reason.
Farmer obligations
Approved farmers undertake to care for adopted trees to normal local standards, to record care and harvest honestly, and to dispatch claimed harvest promptly. Persistent failure results in suspension and reassignment of the affected trees.
Payments
Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. AdoTree does not receive or store card details. Farmer payouts are made after the platform commission stated at the time of adoption.
Acceptable use
Accounts are personal. Do not attempt to access another user's data, interfere with the platform, or use the service to misrepresent the origin of produce.
Liability
AdoTree is liable for the service it provides. It is not liable for crop outcomes caused by weather, pests or other agricultural risks beyond reasonable control, beyond the remedies set out in the refunds and replacement policy.
Changes
Material changes to these terms will be notified to registered users before they take effect.
